No one is saying nondemocratic practices don't happen. But the TPP was stopped: the US government USTR/etc came up with it, tried to push it on the public *and the public resisted it*.

Except the supreme court is appointed by elected people, so yeah, there is democracy involved. Also: the status quo of roe v. wade was kept for decades because millions of americans were in favour of it: even up until Trumps supreme court nominees 'will you touch roe v. wade' was seen as an early question to assess whether or not supreme court nominees would be accepted. Turns out some supreme court nominees were liars, and they were appointed despite promises not to touch roe v. wade... but that happens in politics sometimes

Sure. Compromises happen in democracies, that is a good example of one.
