Most printers, scanners etc aren't networked, and even if they are usually they still can be connected directly and it's done by USB B, unless it's some sort of portable one. Vast majority of MIDI devices are USB B unless again it's a small form factor. Type c and micro fill the same niche (ultra portable devices) while having similar level of robustness, main difference is that type c doesn't get awkward when you need 3.1 speeds and such.
