Let me be clear about something, just so nobody misunderstands my intent. I don't want or plan on throwing away science as an institution, or the peer-review process. But I do advocate that we start levying some HEAVY criticism on how people have conducted themselves so that maybe, just maybe, someone will start feeling some guilt and shame and try to do better.
