Soyviet Union and the like were identical to that; forced labor in mines whether you like it or not, dissidents are locked up in gulags, and everyone else is being told how tyrannical and evil the capitalist world supposedly is, and how much more free the commies supposedly were (even though with the exception of the Poles, no one was allowed to leave their own republics).
