Boogie-tier take but I don't think accepting donations or even "ebegging" in and of itself is terrible. If you offer a better user experience than everyone else and your users would rather give money to you than spend it on setting up their own shit then that's fine. I just think guilting users about it is pretty shitty and runs contrary to the spirit of the fediverse. Advertising alternative servers and how to set up your own should be emphasised before guilting people for donations.
