@kaia it's less silly than it looks, it's very hard to put real zoom lenses into flat phones, so if you want to have any kind of range you'll need to put in multiple cameras. You can also do some neat computational tricks to enhance the image in different ways that can be done optically in a real camera but is nearly impossible in a phone.

But of course, it's also because 5 cameras is better on a feature list than 3 cameras....
