"Houghton explained that Tater Tot's energy had been gradually decreasing over the past week, and they were hoping antibiotics could treat an illness.

The kitten had also shown signs of pneumonia, which led to Houghton starting pneumonia protocol with medications and a nebulizer.

Despite these efforts, Tater Tot passed away suddenly in Houghton's hands.

The vet had previously raised the possibility of a heart condition, but Tater Tot's small size prevented any tests from being conducted. Houghton believes that he may have had an enlarged heart, which ultimately led to his passing."
