@meso @alex barbie kinda shit on the matriarchy though like it portrayed the patriarchy as absurd when ken tried to use it in the real world and in barbieland everyone was kinda chill even though there were issues with it. the matriarchy was empty shallow and plastic in barbieland. while the barbies had to be un "brainwashed" and patriarchy toppled, it was not straight back to matriarhcy and actually they made significant improvements with the kens allows themselves to be themselves finally, it was the major arc of the movie, the kens not hte barbies.
really though its just an absurd script kinda shitting on mattel they never expected them to pick up. it's just one big shitpost. not like either side is shown as great in so much detail and the politics are pretty stupid and change alot throughout.
it's definitely a pro girlboss movie though and i felt something watching it
