Eugen Rochko@randahl It's a universal limit, you can follow up to 7,500 and then a a ratio of 1.1x of your own followers (so if you have 7,500 followers, you can follow more people). We implemented it very long ago as an anti-abuse mechanism; similar limits exist on other social media platforms.
