Non-Christians claim this verse means we have to just forgive and forget, not learn anything from the experience. What this verse is telling us is not to hold grudges, not to continuously reopen ourselves to the same exact thing by forgiving and forgetting. It also doesn't tell us to not dislike a person because of previous experiences, just don't hold a grudge because there's a chance it will fester and turn into something else.
