06 was released unfuckingfinished, buggy as fuck… They literally released a fucking beta. The whole thing is ENTIRELY on them and they just keep making bad decisions after bad decisions and that’s just puzzling

actually, the beta footage from the e3 before 06’s retail release had extra polish that was missing from the final game. 06 was inexcusably bad in my eyes, but the direction at sega as an overall company that that time was really tough and so I see why it came out the way it did- in spite of the ambition they put into it, they were actively rearranging their entire company to remain financially solvent, helped along by generous loans from someone trying to keep them alive, and because of this total chaos there are a lot of games from this decade we may never get remakes of because sega actually lost the source code for them in this madness (jet set radio future ;-;)
