(Re Don’t Look Up: I thought its depiction of media dysfunction was brilliant, and the best part of the movie. In many places it missed the mark for me: missed many satirical beats, critiques dulled by personal axes to grind, increasingly clumsy plotting, ultimately an invitation to “they’re all the same” and “we’re all doomed” instead of a call to action. But the “scientists encounter the press” part? Spot on.)
