I hope so, but it seems unlikely. The public only believes what headlines tell them and journalists would much rather write "the dark web forum Mastodon facilitates CP" than try to explain any of this, and they would have to handle arguments from big tech stakeholders that these tools could somehow be abused by entrusting them to random fedi hosts.
