@tim_lavoie The machine has other issues too and they will change the screen and lower chassis and the total will be 5000 HKD. They itemized the costs and suddenly the batteries were 700 HKD, but when I said what price they had given me last week they gave me a package deal that was far lower than the total of the items.

And it's still lower than buying a refurbished ThinkPad (which I'm also doing – that's for me and fixing the Mac is for the kid).
