I have mixed feelings about it. I like the discovery it affords. Federated does at least encourage connection across similar values and interests. And without local, there’s little to no sense of “instance community.”

Those features do, however, encourage exactly the sort of troll-errant behavior that “no search” was supposed to prevent.
