@King_Porgi @Fash-E History was taught to me as:
- Early 1900s we started getting lots of factories and planes and stuff, they had child labor which was bad, people’s hands and arms ended up in sausage
- There was some big war in Europe, WWI, and we joined because somebody sank our merchant ship
- The Great Depression happened after that but the New Deal helped
- Germany started getting all uppity again because of how cruel the other nations were in reparations for WWI
- Hitler rose to power and decided to kill all the Jews, it was so horrible
- Japan attacked Pearl Harbor so we nuked them and went to Europe too and saved Great Britain and France and the Jews
- Then we started making jets and went to space and had an arms race with Russia but we won that one too
- Vietnam happened but it didn’t go as well as other wars because of politicians
- Jimmy Carter, what a guy, am I right?
- Ronald Reagan, what a guy, am I right?
Looking back, all of my history classes were very, VERY vague. Most of it was just stupid little factoids about famous leaders and small political movements, not actually strategic stuff and reasons why certain countries are the way they are today.
