    Louisiana's primaries are what they call "jungle primaries", which are non-partisan; they are not divided along party lines. Everyone runs regardless of party status; the top 2 fight it out in a runoff if the top votegetter doesn't get 50% + 1 of the total vote.

    Plus, Louisiana is a GOQP +10 state and has been since the 1980's, no thanks to Democrats.
