@litherland I might be wrong, but it seems like “hard to join” is more of a shorthand for saying “it’s hard to rebuild or even just build a network of friends once here”. I’ve noticed it with certain people I used to be mutuals. They struggled to adapt when their old ways of reaching an audience didn’t work, or they got hall monitored, or worse harassed, and they just gave up. That lack of universal welcoming and stickiness is a legitimate problem.
