@mario The only hint in the return txt was "this mail is unauthenticated" but my own server's txt shows that it went successfully through their system, it said:

X-Authenticated_id: [correct]
X-Authenticated-Sender: [correct]
X-TSO-Authenticated: [correct]
X-Originating-IP: [correct]

so it looks like Gmail refused to receive the mail.
