Where'd he get the money? If he earned it and made the machine useful through his organisational talents then his success is merited. There are many examples of this in history, merely inventing something and being able to use it is not useful on it's own. It has to be brought to market to actually matter.

If he got the money through his connections to the finance cartel then the existence of the cartel is the source of the problem.
