so i wrote one at the end and tried to set it up. it choked up at vfat support so i rebuilt mkfs to support that and then in fdisk set it as an efi partition and added it in fstab but it would never be able to find it to mount it and write grub-install, dmesg had no real help, so i was like "ok whatever we dont need efi" and i rebuilt grub for mbr.
but i didnt rewrite the partition table for mbr, so i would need to unmount everything.
so i thought, eh i will reboot into the live session again to remove the mount. but, this computer only supports efi and had a real fit not seeing anything, it forgot how to boot anything and looped into an https boot without networking support. but every 3rd boot it remembers it has a usb stick?
