@vivi oh, I read it and I can see you put some thought into it and guessed some of mine.
I think you're wrong with the assumption that regardless how much effort you put into it, you're at the mercy of luck to find a significant other. There are just so many people out there, (way too many actually) that the idea you were too special to find a partner elicits a mild benevolent smile.
Besides, the whole idea of partnering is to open up to someone and let them look into your abyss and love you.
