"lacking controls": The particular controls that reviewers said were lacking are specifically *non-transgender* controls, which in this case doesn't control for much unless we expect non-transgenders to spontenously express autogynephillic traits, which if anything would SUPPORT the conclusion. It's amazing how such things are an automatic fatal flaw in a study when the conclusion goes against the prevailing ideology but it's never mentioned otherwise. It's like claiming victory on a technicality, which works in law and computer programming but the physical world will just keep churning on, doing what it does despite your carefully reasoned arguments.
As for other studies, it's kind of hard to do research on this topic, or else you get raked over the coals like these authors were. It's a demonstration of power-- "we have established a 'scientific consensus' that says these people are bad scientists. Anyone else wanna try to touch this forbidden topic?"
Ignoring peer review and scientific consensus for a minute (which aren't as golden of a standard of relevance to science as people have been condiditoned to think), I've never known in person a late-onset troon that wasn't autogynephilic. Not a single one. And I've known well over 30 (I used to be a fan of a certain franchise that attracted them like flies). Also every single tranny I've ever seen on TV who talked about their reasons, says they trooned out to feel "desired". I know that's "anecdotal" but in a world that constantly lies to you for political reasons you have to take what you can get. At this point it's something that you just kind of have to trust your senses on.
Again, it doesn't matter to me if late-onset transgenders are more autogynes or not. It doesn't change the conclusion that people should be allowed to do whatever they want. It's a matter of principle. It's a matter of lying for political gain, and of believing those lies because it's more comfortable than the alternative.
