@kwantumkraut @veronica I suspect another comparison to diving is the issue with sudden pressure drop: whether you go back to the sea surface or go from 1 atm to the void, too steep a pressure drop may cause gasses in the blood to form bubbles and cause damage.

So maybe a spationaut might need to be exposed to progressive pressure lowering before going into the void out of a suit (but with ox)

And a void exposure survivor would possibly need to be put in a pressurized chamber for a while.
