Thinking about how everyone in the queer community has always kinda scoffed at and resented the "rainbow avatars for pride month" phenomenon, rainbow posters in the windows of banks etc, and it *is* a pretty hollow form of support, but now that we're *actually seeing corps get blowback for it* as the LGBT rights rollback proceeds in the US, it's like those useless rainbow avatars were actually providing a vague service as an early warning system.
