@TonyaMarie @Impossible_PhD yeah normally if you take progesterone orally it breaks down to allopregnanolone which is a sedative. If you're on 100mg it may not be noticeable and just calming - make you sleepy, but at 200mg it tends to be much stronger. We dont have any data results on allopregnanolone when taken rectally and that depends on the portal vein and how much might reach it if any. We know rectal gives very high progesterone in the bloodstream, just not sure if some, any, or none end up going to the liver and being allopreg.
