@Butterfly_tsuji Something is broken, at a societal level, with the romanticization of abuse.

My reading tastes are, mostly, trashy and escapist. But, it's actually a bit challenging to find a romance novel without an element of abuse. I even read a review recently where the reviewer (ostensibly a woman) said something about how she likes when the heroine suffers, because that makes the grovel sweeter. My hand to God, I don't know what to say about that level of internalized misogyny.
