The build server can just spin up an unstable Debian container for the nightly build job. (Let's ignore getting a statically linked OTP and everything for now.)

The end-user would run the normal pleroma_ctl update.

And if you're building it from source you'd probably not care about statically linking everything and instead would just build it to dynamically link to whatever your system has anyways.
