Tokyo Outsider (337ppm)@youronlyone Doesn't Japan say aa-si-yan as well? That's how I'd think to say it, and I reckon my pronunciation has been more coloured by Japanese-language coverage than English. Combining "syan" into one sound wouldn't fit too naturally with Japanese language, either. 🤔
