- Embed this noticeThey have half a dozen native languages, I think tagalog is spoken up north somewhere. One of my flip friends gave me a language map of the islands once and it's nuts. Half of them aren't even related to each other.
Like many european colonies they use the colonists language as a lingua franca. A few generations ago that meant spanish, but that's pretty much died out by now so they all speak english, but they're still catholic and have spanish names.
