@Jain @fediverseobserver @mastodonusercount we can spend a lot of time re-hashing the various trade-offs of different methodologies and data sources, but why?

Not clear any one gains anything substantive by re-prosecuting arguments for or against analytics methods every time someone says a number.

We can, but I'm unclear why we would or what purpose that would serve.

Also, non-Mastodon software users interact with Mastodon users, and so are using it.
