My dad is now shut up in a bedroom, running a heater full blast, wearing a coat, staring into the middle distance.
He blames himself for his sudden decline, for not properly following his YouTube health advice.
Apparently, when this started, he went to one of Texas's "cash-only" emergency rooms (A&E) and said something wasn't right. His lungs felt like they had fluid. They'd given him a blood test which didn't show an infection, but he was insistent, so for $50 extra, they xrayed his chest and found fluid, so a vending machine dispensed some antibiotics.
I don't k ow of he failed to mention his newish heart stent or it just never occurred to them to check if he was having atrial fibrillation, but it seems like they just sent him to drive himself home in the middle of a heart attack.
I just. Cash-only emergency room??
He might not be dying, but he is also not going to get better.
