This is a client-side app that USERS make the conscious decision to install because they want to use that app. It represents a PORTION of the Nostr network where users have OPTED-IN to that behavior. The underlying Nostr protocol is resistant to censorship, but it enables developers to build tools that give users CHOICES about what content they want to see. Just like it’s your freedom to shitpost on the network, it’s THEIR freedom to choose tools that hide posts they believe they don’t want so see. Think about it.
