@TechConnectify I’ve been getting $100-$200 negative power bills for the past 6 months after installing 12 kW (30 panels on a quite small house from 110 years ago). It’s still summery here, by the way.
I’m a power station though — I am encouraged to supply power after 2pm and get very rewarded for emptying my battery around 7pm (dinner causes stoves to load). I also get a negative price for feed-in around 11am-1pm because of the proliferation of solar.
What if everyone did this?
It would be fine. I don’t use grid power at all. I may use it for one month in the deep of winter — we will see in June.
What if 1/2 did this?
It would also be fine. I’m currently powering 2 other homes on my street, in a 24-hour average. At any given moment I’m powering 5 homes.
The dumb thing to argue against is — I’m on purely wholesale power rates . Everything I pay or get paid is on wildly fluctuating market prices.
I’m looking after my own house. Anything else I get paid is a bonus.
