@mekkaokereke I'd like to add that teens have a lot to be depressed about in general, do old White men not actually see the world? Climate change and ecological collapse, Covid and overt eugenics (not to mention most teens will have had Covid so there's got to be some long covid in the mix), White supremacist violence, normalized gun violence and school shooters (and adults who prevent teens from being safer), women and queer people being systemically targeted for violence and oppression, are all really depressing to people who aren't White supremacists. Ultimately I wonder more about the people boldly stating that phones are the problem as the world burns around them. Reality IS depressing!
