I can’t predict what people use my instance for. I used to have someone from France on here who’d publish self written poems daily @litadieuze, I think was it. My Fediverse instance went down during the holidays because I was unavailable and it was overused for the Pi-Cluster it used to run on, so then it went offline for over a month.

That person hasn’t posted since, I think after my instance went offline they just assumed all their content would be lost.

I don’t want for people to have to backup all their content by themselves, I want them to be able to trust me and the Fediverse (through backups as well as downtime being kept to a minimum).

Just making a new account to some might mean losing a lot of important thoughts and memories. You may not like it, but this is how normies use social media platforms.
