Something I would not have thought beforehand: using @elk on the desktop and @ivory on the phone feels like I'm using *Fediverse* instead of Mastodon.

Having official applications is excellent for new joiners because onboarding experience is a serious matter. However, it can feel like using yet another Big Tech social media platform. Open API with a multitude of excellent clients help alleviate that pain.
