Linux is large, bloated, terrible; it is a clone of a clone of v7 Unix and POSIX is a complete shit, gcc is awful, glibc is awful, dynamic linking is awful, the kernel is the only good part of Linux and it has been awful since some time around 3.x, most distros are worse than regular POSIX because they have attempted to become desktop systems instead of workstations, sound worked great for about ten years and then PulseAudio and DBus fucked it all up (don't get me started on systemd, incidentally written by the same asshole that wrote PulseAudio and DBus), every distro fucks up by making it a pain to get the source, the entire thing is a completely fucked mess, why are we still using numeric UIDs, why is there still a root user, why can non-root users still not open ports <1024, why does ping still have to be suid, why didn't we kill ioctl() yet, why does the kernel keep getting bigger, why does the C compiler keep getting bigger, why did they put emoji rendering into pangocairo instead of fixing the segfaults, why do people want to talk about distros, etc. I could go on or I could elaborate on any of those points, but I won't and I won't argue any of it. No good will ever come from Linux again, it's dead to me.
