Adrian Cockcroft@evan in the early days when Netflix was US based and mostly DVD there was a “gay content” flag that defaulted off for new accounts. If you watched some Margaret Cho or mildly gay themed TV shows it would turn on then the more explicit gay content would no longer be filtered out. Nowadays they are global and have a much more complex way to hide things you probably don’t want to see, and different jurisdictions get different content.
