@dwarf the pictures of it I could find show that it's a center positive PSU so you're going to have an easy time finding a replacement, you just need to find one that physically fits

Yeah, 1000mA (1A) would do fine, because current is a consequence of voltage. A healthy circuit is never going to pull too much current.
