There’s a famous quote from Mark Twain: “There are three kinds of lies: Lies, Damned Lies, and Statistics”., and that quote is a century old.
The problem here is that, we aren’t doing the kinds of misleading statistics that Twain was referring to. It boils down to just two numbers:
- How many people died
- How many of the people that died were marked as having died due to COVID
The assertion that COVID death tolls are inflated is pretty effectively rebutted by these charts, unless you assert that the CDC is faking deaths that didn’t happen.
