Being from Sweden I've built flatpack furniture all my life, not just from IKEA, but also from Jysk, from now-defunct OBS! and probably some other places like ICA Maxi.

It's how a lot of furniture is sold and I think building it yourself really gives you a different appreciation for the furniture in your day-to-day and the act of building it provides you with an appropriate level of menial work with a smidgen of practical-intellectual challenge.
