My Japanese roommate rtold me of her parent’s stories of Japanese “Internment” camps. This horrid piece of our history is not taught in schools, or at least not when I was young, Yes, I see the differences in the color of our skin and the shape of our eyes, but that makes me all the more excited to find out what path my family has walked, and where it has led them, that makes them different from me, yet so very much part of me. Go back far enough and differences disappear.
