- Embed this noticeI've long been opposed to this education model. Men learn by action. Women learn better through sitting quietly and absorbing presented data. I think it goes back to hunter-gatherer times. Women learned from other women about cooking, weaving, which plants to gather and how to use them, etc. Lots of sitting and working. Men learned by the action of going out in a hunting party, tracking and killing the animal, how to skin and dress it, how to bring it back to the village, how to scan for the presence of predators or enemy tribes, etc.
