The way i see it, the subculture becomes so oversaturated, so refined (not as in sophisticated/fancy), so processed that it becomes pablum. The allure dies. The same fate befell stuff like emo, it used to be the outcasts that united via music and being weird/different, now it's just thirst traps with teased hair who like pop punk, or tranny freaks that want to salvage the few kids still into the subculture. I just brought up emo because I grew up with it more or less
