@Eiregoat I can only comment on this country and here football is an obsession for millions. There are retards who spent thousands of USD to go watch in person, some spent up to $10,000, going into debt (they bragged about it) to watch the final. Even if Argentina had won 5-0 they'd still be mega-screwed.

The thing is it's a part of a lot of people's activities, with kids, young adults and even middle aged men playing football as a hobby with friends. It's just like getting into a thing young and that becomes part of your personality.
