Some people on here don't read their own home timeline -- the stream where content from people and tags they follow appears.

Instead, they read the Everything or Fediverse timeline, which has literally everything that arrived at their home server.

That pushes the responsibility for curation onto authors -- "Is this something that would bother anyone?"

It's an unfair structure and it should be up to the reader to curate their home feed instead.
