I can't help adding more to this.
I was in a jazz band that played around the country and world for 35 years. We had rules. We ALWAYS acknowledged everyone working where we were, from sound crew to janitors. We learned their names. We USED their names. We used the front door with fans, not a back stage entrance. We got to know bartenders. Everyone. No one was unimportant. No one. Everyone you see matters.
It's a good approach for life, not just for touring musicians.
