    raising awareness about uncomfortable events might also be valuable. ignorance or silence can be comfortable but also numbing, and even plain dates, used on their own as version identifiers, can be enough to bring back memories of events associated with those dates. heck, even plain version numbers could be triggers. I'm not sure trying to predict how people would react to some name and setting out to avoid any negative emotions that people might associate with an identifier is a valuable goal. clearly people will often jump to unexpected emotional conclusions, such as imagining, without justification, endorsement or calling-out or neutrality, whether it's a named event or a date associated with an event.

    I, for one, wouldn't have known about this event if it weren't for this release, and associating releases and dates with significant events seems to help with my broken perception of time. but maybe that's just me.
