Graham Sutherland / Polynomial@thomasfuchs my dad got solar installed a while back and then realised he had so much spare energy in the summer that installing a full AC system was a no brainer. and it's so much more efficient than portable units - he cools three large rooms with the same amount of power it takes for me to cool one medium size room with one of my portable units, and it's still less than half the average solar energy he's producing. obviously the upfront outlay is way higher though (£8k for his AC install).
